My Approach:
My programs are educational and empowering with a goal for life-long health & fitness.
I view health holistically and recognize that we are all unique. I was not a gifted athlete as a child, and often struggled with keeping my weight at a healthy level through my teenage years and early 20's. I know what it takes! In fact, I spent nearly 20 years in an office cubicle myself!
Over the years I acquired vast amounts of knowledge regarding exercise, nutrition, mental/emotional health, athletic training & competition, personal motivation and a healthy diet & lifestyle. Incorporating my approach and affecting my own life has been an exciting and rewarding challenge.
My casual coaching style is friendly, fun and will not be intimidating. With my personal experience and formal training, I know I can help you too.

| My History
I started running for weight loss at the age of 22. I ran my first race shortly after and came in close to last. A few years later I ran a marathon on a New Years Eve bet. That was in 1992 when I ran the Boston Marathon as a “bandit” (a bandit is not officially in the race). Awed and inspired I made a personal vow to come back as a qualified Boston Marathon runner. It took several years of training and studying how muscles respond and develop, and how to use nutrition to enhance my efforts, and how to use meditation & mindfulness to stay focused on what [I] wanted, before I officially qualified. I transformed myself and learned that with a strong desire anything is possible. If I can do it, so can you.
I have now been training for more than 30 years as a runner & cyclist. I have completed more than 20 marathons and hundreds of running, cycling, triathlon & duathlon races. I've also had extensive experience with resistance training, focusing on function and performance. My current fitness passion is trail runnning (meditative qualities) and practicing yoga & martial artswhich I've been involved with for the past several years.
